07 · The Farjallah group
FTC Qatar is the GCC hub of Farjallah Holding: over 20 companies building cold across the Middle East, Africa and Europe.
08 · Eighty years of cold
Antoine Farjallah founds Iceberg, a metal-furniture workshop making refrigerated showcases for shops and groceries. Iceberg becomes the mother company of the group, and its name is still on the refrigeration units we install today.
Issam and Georges Farjallah establish Farjallah Trading Company (FTC) as an electro-mechanical contractor specialised in refrigeration. The showcase maker becomes a company that designs, supplies and installs complete cooling systems.
FTC Qatar is established in partnership with Abu Issa Holding, bringing the group's refrigeration and HVAC experience to Qatar. Since then it has supplied stadiums, hospitals, the Doha Metro and some of the country's largest cold stores.
Ammonia Cooling Solutions (ACS) is set up in Lebanon to engineer ammonia systems for the Middle Eastern and African markets. Ammonia is the refrigerant of choice for large industrial plants, with the lowest life-cycle cost of any chiller.
Afrigel Ouest opens in Côte d'Ivoire to serve the African market, the group's base in West Africa.
Building Envelope Solutions (BES) is established in Qatar, again in partnership with Abu Issa Holding. BES works from the same West Industrial Area address as FTC Qatar.
FTC Europe opens in Greece, giving the group a company inside the European Union.
FTC ME opens in the United Arab Emirates, the group's second company in the Gulf after Qatar.
FTC inaugurates its new company-owned GCC headquarters in Doha, at Building 16, Street 653, Zone 57, and marks 15 years in Qatar. The head office and spare parts counter work from here.
FTC Arabia opens in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, completing a Gulf network across Qatar, the UAE and KSA.
